When Chico's grandmother decides to teach him a lesson about family and tradition, he'll embark on a magical urban adventure to redeem himself. When he meets a mechanic named Lupe, who may or may not be Our Lady of Guadalupe, he'll have to learn to make a sacrifice to convince her to help on his journey.

Our Lady Lupe was produced in association with PBS and has won a Telly Award for Children’s Television.

Director Dominique Nieves has been recognized as a BAFTA BREAKTHROUGH for this film.

Dominique Nieves - Director, Writer, Lupe, Producer

Dominique is a Nuyorican filmmaker and founder of Iron Glove Productions. She aims to empower underrepresented voices through storytelling.

Nieves is an NBC Writer’s on the Verge Semi-Finalist, and the recipient of a Voices With Impact Grant, providing her the funds to create a short film about the mental health effects of sexual violence. The film won an invitation into the Olive Film Collection. Her other films have garnered awards and festival selections including official selection to HBO’s New York Latino Film Festival for, ‘A Nice Guy’, Screenplay Official Selection to Holly Shorts Film Festival for, ’21 Candles’, and Best Social Justice Film from Oniros Film Awards for, 'RACCA'. Nieves is an alumna of Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania.

Derrick Delgado - Chico

Derrick Delgado is a Puerto Rican-American actor based in New Jersey. He enjoys how acting allows him to use his imagination and explore other worlds and characters. He is an honor roll student who excels in math and science but his favorite subject is art.

Derrick stars as Jordan in the grant winning film 'Masc' and plays Robin in 'Manifest'

He has trained with The Prep NJ and Actors Technique NY.

Francisca Muñoz - Abuela

Francisca is an actress, singer, songwriter, and a proud member of Actors Equity. She holds a Bachelor of Music (Honors) in Music Performance, Theatre and Composition from Western Sydney University, Australia. Born in Chile, raised in Sydney, Australia, she calls herself an "Australian Latina"; who has been able to combine and nurture both of these beautiful cultures, making her a unique individual.

Some of her credits include the Off Broadway Shows; Felix Starro as Mrs Delgado and The Last Jew of Boyle Heights; as Maria. She will be playing Amalia in the production of American Mariachi at Theatre Squared in Arkansas. She can also be seen in the upcoming Netflix film; Luckiest Girl Alive to be released in 2022. Francisca is represented by Take 3 Talent.

Amilcar Javier - Juelo, Producer

Amilcar Javier is a New York City based actor performing in film, TV, theater & commercials. He trains in improv, comedy, drama & scene study with Anthony Abeson. Amilcar was born & raised in New York City and is fluent in Spanish. In addition to his career as an actor, Amilcar is a grant-winning writer and producer. In between writing scripts & running lines, he also writes scripts and runs lines of code as a professional software developer.

Stacie Hawkins - Producer

Stacie E. Hawkins is an independent filmmaker who currently resides in Los Angeles. She received her M.F.A. in Film & TV Production from Chapman University and her graduate thesis, the 16mm short “Like A Woman Should,” screened in festivals across the U.S. and Europe.

Her debut feature, The Rise and Fall of Miss Thang, won Best Feature at both The San Francisco Women's Film Festival and The Independent Black Film Festival of Nashville. It went on to screen in festivals around the world and is currently available on Amazon Prime.

Stacie is an active member of SAG/Aftra and has studied improv at Second City Chicago and TV writing at UCLA Extension. She is an active member of the Alliance of Women Directors and Women of Color Unite.

Zanin Lindsay - Cinematographer

Zanin Lindsay is a multiracial Bronx born and raised Cinematographer/ Filmmaker that specializes in translating your intangible concept into a visual strategy that will communicate your vision to your audience.

It is his belief that filmmaking at its core is the ability to build bridges between the storyteller, story and audience. Creating an experience that will inspire and intrigue the viewer beyond the runtime of the film.

Due to his ethnic, cultural and socio-economic background, he strives to create content that will accurately represent people of color and the nuances of identity that don’t cling to mainstream racial stereotypes, labels and tropes.

Angelica Jacinto - 1st Assistant Camera

Angelica Jacinto is a filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York who is passionate about cinematography as an art form. She has experience as Director of Photography, 1st Assistant Camera, Camera Operator and Production Assistant on a number of independent short films and two web series. Angelica earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Media with a concentration in Film Studies from Fordham University. She currently works for Amref Health Africa, a non-profit that provides preventative health services in Africa, as a writer, graphic designer, and producer of photo and video content.

Ruben Frischeisen - 2nd Assistant Camera

Ruben Frischeisen is a sophomore at Hunter College majoring in film. He's received training from NYU and is a fellow at the award winning program Ghetto Film School. His film “Mamabear” screened at the Landmark Theater, which he wrote, directed and edited. This past spring, he interned at Iron Glove Productions and is currently interning at Walt Disney Studios.

Igor Kuwonu - Key Grip

Igor has dabbled in the world of acting and film production while in high school and college. He is happy and grateful to continue his involvement thanks to Dominique, Amilcar, and Iron Glove Productions. He is proud to be working and helping with the creation of stories that convey powerful messages relevant to us today.

Will Roane - Sound Recordist

Will Roane is a director, producer, and writer, working in film, television, and on the internet.

He operates Team Zebra Squad Alpha, the production company he started in the 2nd Grade on the playground of his Alabama elementary school.

He lives in New York City.

Wesley Grant - Sound Recordist

Wesley is a location sound mixer from San Francisco, CA. He’s currently based in NYC, where he freelances on various projects such as: ENG, documentaries, promos, interviews, and narratives. He discovered his passion for production sound after being given the opportunity to boom op whilst working as a production assistant. He’s been happily surfing the sound waves ever since.

Kevin Ho - Mahjong Deity, Stills Photographer

Kevin is a Project Manager/Scrum Master in the Healthcare Tech industry. He is also a photography enthusiast while he's not leading multiple project teams. Brittany Sandoval - Script Supervisor, Casting

Brittany Sandoval is an emerging talented actor, writer, and producer. Recently featured in the award- winning movie Rich Kids, that is currently streaming on Netflix and Amazon Prime. Currently, she is developing her debut short Dramedy film with magical realism elements that is slated to premiere fall of 2022. As a writer she focuses on creating disruptively thought-provoking pieces.

Lou Daumas - Colorist

Originally from the South of France, Lou Daumas is a full-time in-house and freelance Colorist now living and working in New York City. Her work includes commercials, narratives, documentaries, music videos and interviews for all sorts of format: shorts, features and series. Lou worked for clients such as Dove, L'Oréal, Univision, AccuWeather, Blue Apron or Harper's Bazaar to name a few. Finally, she recently became a full member of the Colorist Society International.

Mikhaila Smith - Composer

Mikhaila Smith is a composer, orchestrator and pianist based in New York. Her compositional voice embraces an array of musical styles and her experience in film scoring spans across several genres including drama, animation, fantasy and magic realism. In addition to film, Mikhaila's creative work extends to the concert hall and interdisciplinary art where she experiments with a variety of sonic palettes and explores the endless possibilities of harmony and orchestration. Originally from South Africa, she received a Bachelor's degree in Composition from the University of Cape Town before moving to New York to complete a Master's degree in Screen Scoring at New York University. Mikhaila's artistic world involves collaborating with other artists, storytelling and immersing herself in worlds beyond this one through the expressive and powerful medium of film music.
